St. Othmar, also called St. Audomar, was the first abbot of St. Gall. At first the monastery used the Rule of St. Columba, but while St. Othmar was abbot, the Rule of St. Benedict took its place. He died in prison in 759. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11351a.htm This category needs an editor
